Hanging Candle Lanterns

Hanging candle lanterns are one of the most easiest ways to add romance to a room or yard. You can purchase decorative lanterns such as Moroccan amber lanterns or Chinese paper lanterns for under ten dollars, or make your own hanging candle lanterns with mason jars. Either way, your next party will greatly benefit from the hanging candles. Here are several candle lanterns to help get you started.

Brighten up your party with this interesting hanging lamp. The Hurrican holds eight tealights (purchased separately) and is designed to fit snugly on a patio umbrella. If you've always wanted to hang candles on your patio but were concerned about fire safety, the Hurrican Umbrella Lights are your best bet. They effectively light eight candles, but take up a fraction of space due to its out of reach placement.

There are a few drawbacks to its design, however. The glass doesn't fit deeply into the circle, and can result in some rattling during heavy winds (they won't fall over, but the noise can be disctracting if you're sitting outside enjoying the summer breeze). Another minor note pertains to the cheap plastic base it rests upon; however, because this lantern hangs above, it is unlikely that anyone other yourself would look closely at it. All in all, this lantern is a solid addition to any outboor BBQ.

One of our favorite styles, this metal lantern is lightweight, affordable (though, at $90 it's hardly cheap!) and high quality. You really get what you pay for. Fixed with glass sides, this beauty holds only one tealight (purchased separately) and should be placed prominently for your visitors to admire. The metal makes this candle lantern easy to clean, and rust resistant.

These three hanging candle lanterns cover the price spectrum accordingly. To help keep costs low, we suggest buying the Chinese paper lanterns or Moroccan style to use as a centerpiece, and make your own hanging lanterns using mason jars, sand and twine for larger lighting projects.
